try to tell them there's something wrong. They have odd habits, cannot use technology, take ages to do normal everyday things, and appear catatonic half the time. The kids are growing up depressed, socially anxious, and introverted, and when they try to talk about it the parents tell them they are wicked, strange, children and are growing up wrong.
